With a team of 200 dedicated employees, De Eekhoorn Dutch Furniture has been a specialist in developing, producing and distributing interior products for DIY stores, department stores, furniture specialty stores and online retailers in Europe for over 44 years.
More than 30% of our collection is manufactured in our own factory in Zwaagdijk-Oost, and our headquarters, including distribution center and showroom, is conveniently located along the highway in Hoorn.

About the job
As a Export Commercial Representative, you will be the first point of contact for our customers who come in with a request for help about a defective product or wrong shipment. You will have the opportunity to accommodate the customer and give them the confidence that their problem is taken seriously. You resolve the problem according to stated policy and to their satisfaction. Because of the way you resolve complaints, customers enjoy doing business with The Squirrel and come back to us.
As a Export Commercial Representative, you will be the first point of contact for our customers who come in with a request for help about a defective product or wrong shipment. You will have the opportunity to accommodate the customer and give them the confidence that their problem is taken seriously. You resolve the problem according to stated policy and to their satisfaction. Because of the way you resolve complaints, customers enjoy doing business with The Squirrel and come back to us.
What will you do?
- Review and properly handle incoming complaints;
- Providing customers with information on products, services and customer service policies;
- Archiving and recording settled complaints;
- Maintain customer records and update as necessary in a system;
- Providing feedback on how other employees are helping customers;
- Identifying and reporting repetitive complaints;
- Reporting exceptional cases to and referring them to senior management;
- Handling warranty issues, payments, refunds and claims.
What do we ask of you?
- You have an MBO education;
- You have work experience in a similar position or in a service oriented environment (e.g. hospitality);
- You master the Dutch and English language in word and writing; Besides English, knowledge of German or French is an advantage;
- You are communicative and work independently;
- You are flexible and stress resistant and have a sense of responsibility.

2. Invitation by phone
If you are interested, one of our HR managers will call you to make an appointment.
3. First interview
If you are invited for an initial interview, the manager of the relevant department will tell you more about the position together with the HR manager.
4. Second interview
If we are both enthusiastic, a second interview with a manager and a direct colleague follows. Depending on the position, a case may be presented or an online assessment may follow.
5. Contract proposal
You will receive a contract proposal from our HR manager.
6. Employed
When we have come to an agreement you will be warmly welcomed by your new colleagues!
