CSR Coordinator

The concept of De Eekhoorn Dutch Furniture is clear and simple: designing tough, contemporary, easy-to-assemble and appealing furniture. With over 200 employees, De Eekhoorn Dutch Furniture and Basiclabel has been a specialist in developing, producing and distributing interior items for hardware stores, department stores, furniture specialty shops and online retailers in Europe for over 40 years. More than 30% of our collection is produced in our own factory in Zwaagdijk-Oost. De Eekhoorn has been actively working on making its production processes and operations more sustainable for many years. We are already taking important steps to reduce our ecological footprint, but and we are determined to take an extra step in the field of CSR. Therefore, we are looking for an enthusiastic CSR Coordinator to join our team. 

We are looking for a CSR Coordinator.
As CSR coordinator, you will play a crucial role in making our company more sustainable. You will work on the greening of our own production and also guide our suppliers in the Far East and Eastern Europe in their sustainability efforts. You make sure they meet our CSR standards and help them implement sustainable practices.

You also actively follow new laws and regulations on sustainability, including the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR). You are responsible for (internally) implementing these regulations and other relevant guidelines so that De Eekhoorn complies with legal requirements at all times.

What will you do?

• Making our own production processes more sustainable.
• Guiding and supporting our suppliers in their CSR processes.
• Implementing and ensuring sustainable initiatives and standards throughout our supply chain.
• Monitoring new legislation (such as the EUDR) and ensuring compliance within our company.
• Actively contributing to awareness and engagement around sustainability within our team.

You are someone who: 

• Has a passion for sustainability and corporate social responsibility.
• Is familiar with laws and regulations in the field of sustainability, or is willing to study them in depth.
• Is independent, proactive and has a hands-on mentality.
• Have excellent communication skills and can work well with various stakeholders, both internal and external.
• Having experience with international suppliers and knowledge of the furniture industry is a plus.
