We are looking for a Production Manager (40 hours). As Production Manager, you will be responsible for the factory and lead production. The production department consists of two team leaders and approximately 80 employees. The Production Manager is a strong personality who manifests himself appropriately in both the production environment and the office environment. You contribute to the further professionalization of De Eekhoorn and you know how to turn plans into concrete results. As Production Manager you are a member of the Management Team of De Eekhoorn. You work closely with the Product Development department and the Supply Chain department. As MT member you co-direct the ambitious (European) growth strategy and you are responsible for the successful operational execution. You also implement operationally important improvement projects, for example in the field of quality and production optimization, (CSR CO2 reduction and packaging optimization, process automation and digitalization).
 
These will be your responsibilities:
  • Managing the factory.
  • Directing all operational activities of the production department.
  • Directing team leaders and production employees for the purpose of smooth daily operations.
  • Directly managing the technical department.
  • Responsible for departmental budgets.
  • Managing team leaders with regard to the department goals, optimal production flow, inventory management and the health and safety policy.
  • Inventory relevant key figures such as productivity, analyze and assess these key figures and adjust based on this. 
  • Ensuring a safe working environment, contributing to a good quality service for all customers in an efficient way.
  • Implement the performance management cycle of the employees of the department.
  • Defining the tactical direction for the operation and concrete improvement projects (improving processes and quality), prioritizing and implementing improvement projects. Continuous focus on improvement in the area of automation and digitalization. 
  • Defining and implementing new projects to expand production capacity. 
  • Participate within the Management Team on the direction of the company.
  • Upstream communication to the management of De Eekhoorn.
  • You will report to the CEO of De Eekhoorn.
What we ask of you:
  • Minimum of 5 years work experience in a similar position in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to think about production and give direction at a strategic & tactical level.
  • Experience in (indirectly) managing a large number of employees.
  • Representative and communicatively strong.
  • A ''can do'' mentality.
  • Optimistic, flexible and responsible.
  • Good command of the Dutch and English language, spoken and written.
  • Knowledge of EXACT and MES software is an advantage.
  • Experience with automation projects is a plus.
