We are looking for a technical illustrator. As an illustrator, you will ensure that all designs are developed technically within the set deadlines. You will use Autodesk Inventor to make accurate and detailed drawings. You have a well-developed spatial insight and imagination, and can imagine how a piece of furniture will look in reality from the drawing. Thanks to your knowledge of woodworking and joining techniques, you are able to produce solid, well thought-out furniture that meets high quality requirements.
In addition, you take care of the correct transport of the product so that it arrives at the customer's premises without damage. You do this by designing transport packaging that meets all requirements. You provide the boxes with all the necessary information, so that the packing team knows exactly how to pack the product correctly and efficiently.

You take into account the end user, who will assemble the furniture themselves, and create clear and user-friendly instructions for this. You provide these with clear assembly graphics, which you design in Illustrator, to make the assembly process as easy as possible for the customer. No Illustrator experience yet? Then we can teach you!

This is what you will do:
Drawing and Technical Elaboration

• Technical elaboration of designs of various pieces of furniture according to specifications and within set deadlines.
• Preparation of detailed technical drawings for internal use and communication with production departments.
• Designing and compiling clear manuals, including associated icons and graphics, for assembly and customer instructions. 

Packaging

• Creating detailed layouts for packaging boxes that meet transport and product requirements to prevent damage during transportation.
• Preparation of packing notes with specific instructions for the packing team.

Visualisation and Presentation 

• Rendering visualisations for use in presentations and customer communications, clearly conveying concepts. No experience with rendering yet? Then we can teach you! 

Cooperation and consultation

• Transfer and discuss functional and technical drawings with the work planner to ensure all designs are production-ready.
• Contacting suppliers on materials and new component developments. 
• Answering queries from internal and external parties based on the drawings and technical information provided.

Problem Analysis and Solutions

• Analysing reported problems in production or during assembly, and proactively suggesting solutions to resolve them efficiently.

Documentation and Archiving

• Setting up calculation documents for new furniture. 
• Archive and systematically maintaining documentation, drawings and associated files in digital data files for future reference and compliance with standards.

What you bring:

• Education MBO/HBO in the direction of technical illustrator/product design.
• Good fluency in Dutch and English. 
• Knowledge of drawing processes, knowledge of programmes such as Autodesk Inventor, Autocad or Solidworks and optionally Photoshop, Illustrator.
• A solution-oriented, flexible, practical, enthusiastic and energetic attitude.
• Good communication skills.
